Encinitas – Franklin Residence
After a recent whole house remodel, the client wanted a modernized front yard landscape to reflect their improved home. Client wish list: an informal outdoor living space to work in as well as enjoy a morning cup of coffee; reduced maintenance, curb appeal, and since it’s a corner lot in a highly travelled area, increased privacy.
A curved planting of Pittosporum ‘Oliver Twist’ will grow 8-10’ tall, providing screening for the newly-installed decomposed granite patio. Plantings of bloomers like Waverly White sage, Butterfly Blue fan flower, and yellow bulbine will draw butterflies and bees to the garden. Colorful foliage plants, succulents and groundcover – all waterwise – bring in much needed texture and color, without heavy maintenance. Accents of Artesian boulders dot the landscape, capping off this landscape renovation.
